Description
My Cells Artwork is created using mixed media including pastels, gouache, and ink pen. It was inspired by studying skin cells under a microscope. I use my drawings as inspiration to develop my textiles and, in this case, my hand wovens silks that I have showcased alongside these artworks. These can also be found on my website shop.
The artwork has an abstract quality and could be interpreted in different ways to represent many organic forms found in Nature. The colour palette is a mixture of soft khakis, blood reds, and sage green with small elements of spots white and overall a soft stony ground of red clay. I have used line drawing and a gentle chalk rub as my main techniques for mark-making in accordance with the natural subject matter of the artwork.
The drawing has been mounted and framed but can be bought without either of these if you so wish. There are metal hooks attached on the back of the frame too.
It is an original unique artwork on thick watercolour paper, created by me and I have signed it too, there are no reproductions or prints made.
The white wooden box frame can easily be removed and changed to suit your home's interior décor. It will also make a unique gift to give a loved one or an art lover. I can gift wrap to send to them also.
