Description
I use my drawings as inspiration to develop my textiles and, in this case, my hand wovens silks are showcased alongside these artworks. The corresponding artwork "Bird & Hare' can also be found on my website shop. My framed woven has the same playfulness quality as the corresponding artwork that it has been inspired from. They would sit very well hung together of course but work perfectly well on there own too. The colour palette of the silk threads is a mixture of soft blues, subtle pinks and coral peaches with the soft stony ground of the warp threads. I have handwoven this textile myself using my own hand-dyed silk yarns, all woven on a table loom.
The weave has been custom framed here in Nottingham within two pieces of glass to protect it from dust and held together securely in a solid wood frame. There are metal hooks attached on the back of the frame too.
It is an original and unique woven textile and created by me.
